Permission slips to attend NEXT WEEK’S PBIS FIELD TRIP are in the business office. The trip is to Cinemark Theatre to watch Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. Deadline to turn in your permission slip is NEXT WEDNESDAY MAY 3RD. No late submissions. Check the lists outside the business office to see if you are eligible. Permission slips can be turned in AT LUNCH ONLY to the student workers outside the counselor’s office. They will set up during BOTH LUNCHES.
The SHS Choir will put on their annual POP show on May 11th at 6:30pm in the auditorium. This year’s show will feature the music of Disney classics. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from any choir member or Mrs. Berry in room 5108 on the main campus!
Choir Auditions will be held for new and returning members starting on May 16th. Auditioned groups include A Capella choir, Chamber choir, and Show choir! Please come by room 5108 on the main campus and see Mrs. Berry for more information or pick up an information packet in the front office!
Attendance and grade recovery paperwork should be turned in to the Counselor’s Office as soon as possible. The times for recovery are Monday through Thursday before school from 6:45am-7:30am and after school from 3:15pm-4:15pm. We will also offer some Saturdays. CPSB has changed the way that parents must sign off on the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for students. It is imperative that this verification is done by October 1, 2016. After October 1, your child may lose the ability to login to a computer at school. All End of Course (EOC) testing is given on the computers. If you have not already set up a Student Progress Center account to check your child's grades, please do so as soon as possible. HomeworkLouisiana offers FREE online tutoring and academic resources from Tutor.com for Louisiana residents from kindergarten students through adult learners. A link to HomeworkLa is available by clicking on the Student tab above. Get help in math, science, social studies or English from a live tutor. The services can be accessed from a Louisiana public library, from your home computer or from your mobile device. The live homework help is available Sunday-Thursday from 2pm-10pm.
If you are qualified to fish the State BASS tournament this weekend you will need to pick up a excused absent form from the front office. You need to turn this into the office before Friday. 9th grade campus can pick them up by Mr. Taylor’s class or the front office. The Next Meeting will be Tuesday May 2nd @ 6:00 pm in the 9th grade gym.
