SUBJECT:   Equipment (Fixed Asset Thresholds) 

The State has revised and the Calcasieu Parish School Board has ratified the definition of equipment (fixed assets) to include those items that cost $5,000 and above.  The former threshold was $1,000.  Any item under $5,000 will now be considered a supply effective July 1, 2008.  Please adjust all budgets accordingly.

THE BOARD WILL STILL REQUIRE ALL COMPUTERS, MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT OR OTHER ITEMS WITH A “STREET” VALUE TO BE TAGGED WITH CALCASIEU PARISH SCHOOL BOARD FIXED ASSET TAGS AND RECORDED ON INVENTORIES.
