Terrific Site for ESL Students
On the menu on the left, you will find a ton of choices.  Check out the "Dictionaries".  There is even a picture dictionary. In the "Vocabulary" section, students can use the "English Vocabulary" to learn the pronunciation and spelling of thousands of words by pointing to the pictures.  There is a ton of information on the site for teachers too, including lesson plans. http://www.rong-chang.com

PaintShop Pro Quick Tip
Do you need to rotate multiple photos at once?  With Paint Shop Pro 8's Browser, you can simply open a folder of photos, press and hold the Ctrl key and select each image you want to rotate. Now, choose Image File > JPEG Lossless Rotation and the direction you would like to rotate and you're done! It's that simple.

Adjust Text to Fit Within A Cell
When text is too long to display in a label cell, you can use Excel's AutoFit feature to enlarge the cell enough to fit the contents. But this can result in too much white space in the rest of the row or column.

Rather than fitting the cell to the label size, Excel also lets you resize the contents to fit within the cell. Follow these steps:
  • Select the cell with text that's too long to fully display, and press [Ctrl]1.
  • In the Format Cells dialog box, select the Shrink To Fit check box on the Alignment tab, and click OK.

However, sometimes this method shrinks text to the point of sacrificing legibility. An alternate method is to wrap the label text within the selected cell by selecting the Wrap Text check box on the Alignment tab of the Format Cells dialog box. Keep in mind that this method will increase the height of the cell.

Top Ten Viruses Found on CPSB Computers
Here are the top ten viruses found on CPSB computers in the past 7 days. The stats are based on 549 infected computers out of a total of 8692 OfficeScan clients.

The latest OfficeScan pattern as of 9-15-2004 is pattern 2.174.00. Please check your pattern by placing your cursor over the OfficeScan icon and viewing the pop-up window that appears. The information shows the name of the virus, the number of infected files found, and the percentage of the virus from the total.  ALL school board employees need to ensure that their Dell, Compaq, HP, IBM or other PC classroom computers stay virus free. Go to the following link to download the district copy of OfficeScan: http://teacherlink.cpsb.org/officescan and your computer will automatically be updated daily to scan for the latest viruses. You must install the software using Internet Explorer 4.0 or later (Netscape will not work!!!!!) Please answer "Yes" to all prompts as the software installs. If you have any questions, please contact the CPSB Help Desk at tech.help@cpsb.org.
