T.S. Cooley Elementary was recently awarded a grant for a Teaching Garden sponsored by the American Heart Association. The garden will teach children how to plant seeds, nurture growing plants, harvest produce and ultimately understand the value of good eating habits. The Student Leadership Team, 4-H Club, and Beta Club recently held a work day to build the garden beds and fill them with soil. With the help of our master gardener, a school-wide planting day was held in March. We will have a school-wide harvest day in May. Thanks to Mrs. Tararra Babaz for writing the grant and sharing her vision for the school. Click on READ FULL STORY for more photos.
