Begin your Louisiana experience in style by joining the CPSB team and the site visit sponsors for a reception with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Sycamore Room of the beautiful L’Auberge du Lac facility from 6 – 8 PM on Sunday, April 26. Become acquainted with the fabulous hospitality and great food people have come to know and experience in Southwest Louisiana. Let the good times roll as you experience the true treasures Southwest Louisiana has to offer! We begin our journey with a short bus trip from L’Auberge du Lac Resort to the Matilda Geddings Gray Mansion on Shell Beach Drive in Lake Charles. Upon your arrival you’ll be greeted with true southern hospitality as the Barbe High School jazz ensemble provides the ambiance for a southern-style cocktail and hors d’oeuvres party on the grounds of the Gray Mansion. After a tour of the mansion, a plantation style home, we will board buses for the Lake Charles Civic Center where our discovery of more Southwest Louisiana treasures will be uncovered. Prepare to embark on a boat tour of Lake Charles with the Lake Charles Buccaneers, possible descendents of the famous pirate, Jean Lafitte. Be captivated by the treacherous tales of the mythical voyages of Lafitte and his band of treasure seeking pirates. Learn about numerous other cultural and historical aspects surrounding the lore and legend that makes Southwest Louisiana a destination truly worthy of another visit.

As we disembark at L’Auberge du Lac following our thirty minute boat trip, we will be greeted by the Mardi Gras Revelers who will lead us to the next step in our journey to uncover the treasures in Southwest Louisiana. Be prepared to party Louisiana style at the Fais Do Do sponsored by Dell Computers! Watch the Cajun French Music Association dance team wow the crowd with their bona fide Cajun dance moves. And…if you are willing…you can learn a few steps yourself! The evening Fais Do Do will end with the Chris Miller band playing authentic Louisiana Cajun music for your dancing and listening pleasure…you won’t want to miss this!

Buses depart at 4:30 pm from L’Auberge du Lac Resort for the Gray Mansion tour and cocktail party. Please dress very casually for these outdoor events.
