Test
Explanation
-
The format of the test for all
grades will be multiple choice and
constructed response.
-
The constructed response items may
come from any combination of the
strands, involve a number of
separate steps, and require
application of multiple skills.
Students are expected to demonstrate
an understanding of mathematical
concepts and their connection to
real life.

Test
Explanation
-
The format of the test for grades 4,
8, and 11 includes multiple choice,
short answer, and a comprehensive
science task.
-
The short answer questions require
students to reflect on a science
concept, demonstrate their
understanding, and make meaning from
a given set of data.
-
The comprehensive science task
question may include tables to
complete, graphs and diagrams to
interpret, and require students to
make scientific conclusions based on
the data.
- A
multiple choice format is used for
grades 3, 5, 6, and 7.

Test
Explanation
-
The format of the test for grades 4,
8, and 11 includes multiple choice
and constructed response.
-
The constructed response items
require higher-order thinking and
expect students to construct or
interpret a chart, graph, map,
timeline, or other graphic
representation, or supply a written
answer.
- A
multiple choice format is used for
grades 3, 5, 6, and 7.
-
The following website includes
sample questions and released test
items:
http://www.louisianaschools.net/lde/saa/2273.html.
What
is the difference between LEAP/GEE and
iLEAP?
-
The charts on the following pages
indicate the percentage of each
subtest or strand on the iLEAP,
LEAP, and GEE tests by grade level.
-
Note that percentages vary in each
subtest or strand from grade to
grade.
-
LEAP, GEE, and iLEAP tests do not
emphasize the same subtests or
strands. For example, the Reading
subtest on 4th grade LEAP is 55% but
only 31% of the 3rd grade iLEAP
test.
-
Knowing this information will help
identify priority areas for testing.
-
Your child and the classroom teacher
used these charts for goal setting
in each grade.
