What do the Achievement Levels Mean?
  • There are five achievement levels for the LEAP, GEE, and iLEAP tests; and there are different point values for each achievement level.
    • Advanced = 200 points
    • Mastery = 150 points
    • Basic = 100 points
    • Approaching Basic = 50 points
    • Unsatisfactory = 0 points
  • The Louisiana Department of Education has developed Achievement Level Descriptors that describe student performance for each achievement level.
  • The Achievement Level Descriptors can help you understand what your child’s testing goals mean.
  • The following pages contain Louisiana’s Achievement Level Descriptors and are organized by grade and subject.
