STARLAB
Students spend time with their parents during Open House. Starlab is a portable planetarium complete with projector. The view of the night sky is strikingly realistic! Campers learn about stars, evidence of earth rotation, mythological stories, and how to identify basic constellations.

A group of campers make their way into Starlab to identify constellations. Knowing constellations is a good way to then locate nebulae, distant galaxies, star clusters, or other "deep sky" objects.

Students are looking through "Rainbow" glasses and are viewing multiple spectrum from the classroom lights. These glasses are used as an introduction to determining gas makeup of various stars. Later, students examine gas tubes and use a spectroscope to determine each tube's gas composition.
