How Would You Handle It?
- by
Julie Doland,
julie.doland@cpsb.org
: The teacher in charge of Option 3 last year used Fridays to develop the student's writing skills (which are VERY limited!) by having them read a scenario about a real-life work force problem. They would read the article (it comes in a publication supplied by GED), write a short description of the problem, and then write about how they would change the problem. She said it was like pulling teeth to get them to write. I plan to let them use the handheld to take notes in Memo while they are reading and then to use Word to type up their solution. Discussion will also be used t get them to ponder other aspects/solutions to the problem.
