Overview
In this lesson students will create slide shows about themselves. This lesson can be modified to any grade level. It will be used after an introduction to the handhelds. This lesson will be used at the beginning and the end of the year.

Objectives
The students will complete a template entitled “Let Me Introduce Myself”.
The students will use technology to convey information about themselves.
TLW measure lengths to the nearest half-inch.
TLW write grade appropriate paragraphs.
TLW use information to create charts and graphs.

Procedures
Students will complete a template entitled “Let Me Introduce Myself”.
Students will use technology to convey information about themselves.
Students will measure lengths to the nearest half-inch.
Students will estimate length.
Slide shows will be beamed to the handhelds. All data will be placed on the handhelds and later synced to the teacher's desktop. Slide shows will also be shared at Open House.
Slide One: Name/ Date
Slide Two: Insert a picture of student/ Birthday
Slide Three: List three hobbies (List)
Slide Four: Favorite subject (Write one complete sentence.)
Slide Five: Measure length of foot/ height (Record findings)
Slide Six: Sketch a map of Louisiana (Write a complete sentence telling the city and state that you live in.)
Slide Seven: Write a paragraph about your summer.
Slide Eight: List three goals for this school year.
Slide Nine: Make predictions about growth of foot and height. This will be checked for accuracy at end of the school year.
Students will express data in a variety of ways by graphs and charts. (Height/Shoe Size Graphs/Birthday chart)

Finished products will be beamed to the teacher’s station and the slide show will be viewed by all students.
