Objectives
Use technology tools (e.g., publishing, multimedia tools, and word processing software) for individual and for simple collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities for a variety of audiences.

Use technology resources to assist in problem-solving, self-directed learning, and extended learning activities.

Use multimedia tools and desktop publishing to develop and present computer-generated projects for directed and independent learning activities.

Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, writing tools, digital cameras, drawing tools, web tools) to gather information for problem solving, communication, collaborative writing and publishing to create products for various audiences.

Identify and generate correct parts of speech.

Create story about the Civil War using factual information.


Procedures
Prior knowledge and lessons:
Parts of Speech in English Class
Civil War in Social Studies Class
Teacher will beam Gone Mad! program with Civil War template and Learninginhand Gone Mad tips from Fling It! to pre-assigned group member. Member will beam to others in group.
Students will open Gone Mad! and complete Civil War template.
Beam finished work to at least 2 group members for proofing.
Open learninginhand (tips on how to create a Mad Lib) from Fling It!
Create a Mad Lib story for an assigned section from Civil War Chapter of Social Studies book. Write Mad Lib story using Microsoft Word.
Copy Mad Lib story text into a new Memo in Palm Desktop.
Synchronize handheld.
Launch Gone Mad! and tap the import button at the bottom of the Templates List screen. Tap the title of the story. The story is now a template.
Beam template to group members
Receive and complete templates from other group members.
Each student will beam his/her template to teacher or hand-in printed copy of story from Microsoft Word.
