Overview
Students will research a poet using a minimum of three different sources. The bibliography entries information and the report information will be collected and the students will use Note Pad on the handheld to log the collected information. They will also use Note Pad when revising, editing, and composing a final draft of the report and bibliography page.
Software
The handheld must have Note Pad or some program that can be used to "write" collected information.

1. Internet access 2. Library: books, magazines, newspapers on the assigned topic
Objectives
1. To collect and gather information for a report 2. To draft a report using the writing process 3. To draft a bibliography page 4. To become more familiar with uses of the handheld 5. To use the handheld to collect, revise, edit and draft a report and a bibliography page
Procedures
1. Research your poet- using one source at a time, gather information on the poet 2. Carefully read the information to determine if it is useful (if not, move on to another source - if so, move on to direction #3) 3. Open Note pad on the handheld 4. Start a new document and name it your first and last name 5. Using the bibliography entries example ditto, log the bibliography information into Note Pad 6. In your own words, and without having access to the source, log the useful information into Note Pad (direct quotes are allowed: annotate correctly) 7. Save your document (done)
Repeat the above steps until you have utilized at least three different sources for gathering information. Save all information in the same document (your name) using Note Pad on the handheld
Using the writing process, compose a report on the assigned poet using Note Pad
Using the bibliography entries example ditto, compose a bibliography page suing Note Pad
Save your report and bibliography final drafts in Note pad
At your assigned time, you will beam your final drafts to me
