Overview
Students use literature, hands-on activities, cooperative learning groups, and technology to create trees for each season and write a story about the seasons.

Objectives
TLW listen attentively to a story. TLW compare and contrast the four seasons. TLW use technology to create a slideshow and write a story.

Benchmark: SI-E-A1, SI-EA2, SI-E-A6, ESS-E-A4,ELA-4-E3, ELA-5-E1, ELA-5-E1 GLE 38, 49,1, 2, 9, 57, 58

Procedures
1. Introduce lesson by reading the book- Seasons by Troll First Start Science. (Or any other book about the seasons.)
2. Discuss the four seasons. Write each season on board, show a picture of each season and discuss what happens to the trees and weather. List results on chart.
3. Discuss how the things we wear change as the seasons change. Ask the students if the things we do change also? List results under each season.
4. Divide children into groups have each group make a one season poster.
5. After group work is finished put poster in correct order.
6. Have students use handhelds to create a slideshow using sketchy. After they have finished creating the slideshow, have students choose there favorite season to write about using their handheld and write in Free Write of Notepad a story.
