Objectives
TLW research, define, and draw different geographical terms.TLW use their handheld palm to communicate their findings with other students. TLW create a concept map including characteristics of their geographical feature and examples of where these features can be found. . TLW write a descriptive paragraph on characteristics of a landform, terms used to describe a landform, and examples of where these landforms can be located.

Procedures
1.Students will begin the lesson by watchihng a United Streaming clip on Geographical Features:Landforms. 2. After watching the clip, students will be asked to name as many landforms as they can. 3. The teacher will review terms that students are familiar with or that they remember. 4. The teacher will then randomly pick (using Palm software, Name Picker) to assign students a geographic term. 5.Students will then be able to use WorldBook Online, their textbook, or another resource to research the term. 6. Once they have done their research, they will compose a concept map in Inspiration on their geographic term. This concept map should contain branches for characteristics of the landform, terms describing the landform, and real world examples of these landforms (ex. Mississippi River, Andes Mountains). Each concept map should have 3 items under each subtopic. 7. Students would then be able to compose a short informative and descriptive paragraph on their landform by changing their Inspiration map into Outline form. Once in Outline form in Inspiration, they can transfer their outline to Memo Pad and use their outline to form their paragraph. 8. When their concept map and paragraph are completed, students may go to Sketchy and draw a picture of their landform with it's name. They will also sync their information to the teacher's computer. 9. When students have completed their paragraphs and drawings, they will go around the room beaming their pictures to other students using a checklist to make sure they get all of the landforms possible. 10. Students should have all landform pictures on their palms. The teacher will read the definitions of the landforms and students will have to chose the correct picture that fits the definition. (This could also be a one-on-one peer game) 11. One to two days from the activity, students will have a written quiz on landform definitions.
