Overview
Students will gain a better understanding of an action verb by illustrating verbs.

Software
1. Sketchy
2. Memo
3. Word to Go

Technology
1. Optional but not necessary – Margi
2. Class projector

Objectives
TLW: 1. illustrate a given list of verbs 2. identify the verb that is being illustrated

Procedures
1.Teacher will beam each group a list of 3-5 verbs (depending on number of students in each group)

2.Using Sketchy the groups will illustrate and animate each verb

3.After all groups have illustrated their verbs, the teacher has two options:

a.If the teacher has the set-up for a whole class the animations can be shared, students can make a list of the action, individually

b.Each group can beam their animations to a designated group. Groups would then view the animations and identify the action, by making a list, using memo. The list then can be beamed to the originally list to be checked.

4.Using Word to Go, groups will write 5 sentences, in which the action verb is highlighted in blue. This document will then be beamed to the teacher’s handheld.

5.For those groups that finish early or for even extra points the students could also highlight the subject in a different color.
