Overview
Students will have a better understanding of the history of Roman numerals and be able to convert between Roman and Arabic numerals using the Palm application, Numerus.

Objectives
Students will learn the value of Roman numerals.
Students will explain the patterns in Roman numerals.
Students will learn about the history and modern use of Roman numerals.
Students will retell the history of Roman numerals by creating a document in Sketchy or a concept map in Inspiration.

Procedures
Procedures:
1.Beam Numerus and the eBook, Roman Numerals, to each participating student.
2.Pair students and pass worksheet, “Roman vs Arabic.”
3.Allow students time to complete the worksheet using Numerus.
4.Have a group discussion about using Roman numerals instead of Arabic number?” What do you think it would be like today if we still used Roman numerals instead of Arabic numbers?
5.Students will read the eBook, Roman Numerals, to find out the history of Roman numerals.
6.Students will retell the history and uses of Roman numerals by creating a document in Sketchy or a concept map in Inspiration.
