From Tech Connect

The Technology Department would like to thank all of the people who have read and/or contributed to Tech Connect for making our first year such a success. If you learn any "tips or tricks" over the summer please continue to submit them to tech.connect@cpsb.org

Remember you can access all of the past issues from the Tech Connect Archive located at:  http://www.cpsb.org/techdepartment/tech_connect

We hope you enjoyed the newsletter and have found it to be a useful tool for professional development, let us know your thoughts. Email tech.connect@cpsb.org.

Summer Email

Any email account that accumulates a large volume of email over the summer will be emptied.  If you are not going to check email over the summer, you should remove your name from listservs, etc.

You can access your email from any Internet connected computer by going to http://mail.cpsb.org.  Enter your firstname.lastname as the "Log On" and press ENTER.  A window will pop up asking for your "User Name" & "Password" -- enter your firstname.lastname and email password and click OK.  This will bring up your email.

IMPORTANT!!!!!  Viewing email from http://mail.cpsb.org will NOT remove you mail from the server!!!  Your mail box will continue to fill up.  To remove items from your mail box, check the box next to the item(s) you want to delete and click the "Delete marked items" icon then click the "Empty Deleted Item Folder" icon.  These icons are located near the top of the screen, above the word "Inbox".

Summer Reminders

Before you leave to enjoy your summer break, here are some reminders of things you should do:
  • Please write down your email password and put it in a secure place so you will remember it when you come back in August.
  • To protect your computers and printers they should be unplugged.  Cover them in order to keep dust out.
  • Now is a very good time to back up the important files on your hard drive and store in a safe place.
  • Ink cartridges from inkjet printers should be removed and placed in a zip lock bag to keep them from drying out.
  • To ensure that your equipment will be repaired when school starts, you must bring it to the Tech Repair Center by May 31st.

The Tech Repair Department is open all summer from 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. (weekdays) and tech.help is available also. Have a great summer!
