    1. The idea that ancient people used sugar as a spice to hide rotting meat is a myth. (pgs. 20-25ish)

    2. The sugar trade involved a complicated set of connections that involved countries and goods all over the world. (35-40ish)

    3. The life of an enslaved person was brutal and dangerous, and they were treated as objects. (55-60ish)

    Now YOU must find the text evidence that supports each one listed above.

    Then find the conflicting viewpoint and text evidence. (second column) 

    And the last column, how do the author's respond to the conflicting evidence?? 

    After you complete pg. 83, finish pg. 5 of Guided Sugar questions. Due 2/2

    Hope eveyone is happy and healthy!  Looking forward to you all being back on Tuesday!  Don't forget Monday we are out to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday!  

     

    Today's lesson is to continue to answer your guided Sugar Changed the World questions. You should complete all of the rest of the second page, through The Problems with Sugar Cane section. Be sure you are adding the page numbers where you found the answers as the directions state.  You should be prepared for me to ck them when we return face-to-face. Please be sure you have done all of the work I've assigned this week, it is considered a homework grade

     

     

     Stay well, and I challenge each of you to do something kind this weekend: wash the clothes, fill the dishwasher, empty the dishwasher, play a game with your siblings, help a neighbor, maybe send one of your teachers who you know is sick a quick get well email.....and then let me know what you did!

    Today,  please click through Lesson 7 in LearnZillion.  You will need to read pgs. 21-29 in the Sugar text. As you read, be looking for information to add to your timeline on pg. 80.  The dates you are looking for are 1095 A.D., 1150 A.D. and the 1400's. You will need to add the information to the timeline, please pay attention to the direction of the arrows on the timeline.  Also, you are to complete the Reading Log for Lesson 7 on loose leaf paper.  Do your best, that's what I expect!
    This work will be considered a HOMEWORK grade!
