    ELEMENTARY

     

     

     

    K-1 STEM

    This camp will explore how bubbles behave and investigate the properties of different materials as they engineer all kinds of bubble wands.

     

    2-3 STEM

    This camp will explore the field of package engineering.  Students will use their knowledge of plants, problem-solving skills, and creativity to design a package that can keep a plant alive and healthy for several days.

     

    4-5 STEM

    This camp will introduce students to the concepts of thermal insulators and thermal conductors, then test different materials to find the best insulators.

     

    K-2 Virtual Field Trip

    This camp will introduce students to their community.  Students will take virtual trips around the community.

    This camp will introduce students to national landmarks and symbols.  Students will take virtual trips around the nation to learn more about our nation's history.

     

    3-5 Virtual Field Trip

    This camp will be an exploration of the United States.  Students will virtually explore the Southern States with a focus on Louisiana.

    Road to Reading

    Does your child need additional reading support?  This camp is for incoming 3rd graders that need additional instruction with reading skills.

    MIDDLE

     

     

     

    I ate my math Homework Math 6-8

    This course will explore the relationships between math and cooking. Students will use proportions in cooking. Additionally, at the end of the course they will shoot and edit their own cooking show episode.

     

    6-8 Literature/Writing

    It's All A Mystery. Students will explore the elements of the mystery genre including suspense, foreshadowing, idioms, and more. Opportunities for a virtual mystery session and short story (narrative) writing session are a few of the fun activities that will be available.

     

    6-8 Science/Chemistry

    The Poisoner's Handbook. Students will explore the field of Forensic Science while also learning about the scientists who paved the way for this intriguing field.

     

    6-8 Narrative Writing

    Crash Course: The Short Story. Students will learn what makes a narrative great. Character development, plot, and dialogue are a few topics we will explore.

     

    6-8 Mathletics

    We will learn core concepts that are key to success in middle school math.  We will use a variety of tools in Blackboard to collaborate and interactive games to practice.

    Robotic Hands, Edible DNA, Catapults, Floating Figures, and more!! Let's use these design activities and challenges to learn about body systems, laws of motion, solubility and density.

    This camp will explore how Art and Math connect through creative hands-on activities.

    ACT Bootcamp

    This bootcamp will offer students an opportunity for remediation in the English, Reading, Science, and Math ACT test.

     

    Advanced Music Theory

    This camp is designed to enhance student understanding of how written music works. The camp is designed for young instrumental and vocal musicians who are currently enrolled in Calcasieu Parish music programs and will enhance their understanding of the fundamentals of reading music literature as prescribed by national standards.

     

    Beginning Music Theory

    This camp will be a basic introduction to music literacy. The camp is designed for young instrumental and vocal musicians who are currently enrolled in Calcasieu Parish music programs and will help these students understand the fundamentals of reading music literature as prescribed by national standards.

     

    Computer Service Tech

    This camp will introduce students to Computer Service Technology and Repair through virtual simulations fiven real life scenarios.

     

    Graphic Design

    This camp will introduce students to exploring graphic design concepts that will assist in building a portfolio of advertising projects. 

     

    Virtual Literacy Summer Camp for Deaf Students

    This camp focuses on language and literacy for students who utilize ASL to communicate.  Deaf students will learn to read and sign more accurately as they begin the task of simultaneously reading English while thinking in and learning ASL.
