In 1991, a friend of mine who was moving away to college asked me to take over teaching his private guitar students. As it turned out, I was pretty good at it, and that handful of students soon blossomed into dozens. So began my career as a music educator.
In 2010, I made the decision to return to college and finish my music degree, with the intention of earning my teaching certificate and working in the public school system. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music from McNeese State University in 2014 and completed my teaching certificate through iTeach Louisiana the following year.
I am currently the assistant band director at LaGrange High School, a position I have held since 2015. I also teach guitar and jazz ensemble and have taught fine arts survey in the past. I also have experience in elementary music, middle school vocal and instrumental music, and have served as choir director to a local church.
