    Reminders: 

    1. There will be a section 5 quiz on Tuesday 10/02, please start looking over notes and workbook pages. 

    1. Email me if you know you will be out so that I can send you the lesson’s powerpoint. 

    1. Begin reading AR books, students are required to gain at least 5 points by the end of the 9 week grading period. Due October 9. 

     Monday (9/25): Section 5 lesson 16 

    Objectives: 

    Student will be able to track character development and irony throughout a text in order to create a literary analysis. 

    Materials:  

    Unit readers (pgs. 24-37), Workbook pages (pgs. 27-28), & pen or pencil 

    Homework: Parenthetically citing evidence worksheet, due Wednesday 9/27 

    Extra credit assignment will be handed out, due Monday 10/2 

    Tuesday (9/26):  Section 5 lesson 17 part 1 

    Objectives: 

    Students will close-read and analyze a complex text to write a comprehensive summary. 

    Materials:  

    Unit Reader pgs. 59-62, loose leaf for notes, & pen or pencil 

    Wednesday (9/27):  Section 5 lesson 17 part 2 

    Objectives:  

    Students will close-read and analyze a complex text to write a comprehensive summary. 

    Materials:

    Thursday (9/28): Section 5 lesson 18 

    Objectives:  

    Student will be able to analyze characters and their motivations in order to compare and contrast across multiple, complex-texts.

    Friday (9/29): Section 5 Lesson 19 

     Objectives:  

    The student will be able to analyze the language in a text in order to determine how tone can reveal aspects of a character
