My name is Jessica Stanford, but most people call me Nikki. I became certified to teach elementary grades 1-5 and special education grades 1-5 in 2020 and am currently in my second year of teaching. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked for 10 years in various social services roles including child welfare case manager, mental health specialist in group home settings and case manager for individuals with disabilities. In addition to being certified to teach elementary grades and special education, I am certified to teach 7 different CPR and related courses through the American Red Cross.
I have a bachelor’s degree in computer and natural science, a post bachelor’s certificate in child and adolescent psychology, a master’s degree in psychology and in December 2022 I will graduate with a doctorate in educational psychology and technology.
I am excited about combining my work history and education to work with you and your child! Teaching and working with young people has always been my favorite thing to do and I’m happy to be able to be a part of the teaching staff at Gillis.
