Ms. Marquita Gray
At Ray D. Molo Middle School, Ms. Marquita Gray teaches sixth grade Special Education in the Inclusion and Resource setting. Ms. Gray has been teaching since 2012. Being that she grew up in a family of educators, Ms. Gray knew at a young age that education was her calling.
Ms. Gray attended McNeese State University where she majored in Health and Human Performance Education. She was a member of the McNeese State University Track & Field Team. After graduation, Ms. Gray joined the faculty of Northwest High School, where she taught high school Health and Physical Education. During her time at Northwest High School, Ms. Gray was the head women’s Volleyball and Track & Field coach for three years. After returning to Lake Charles in 2015, Ms. Gray joined the faculty of Ray D. Molo Middle School. There she began a journey of teaching Special Education. In 2016, Ms. Gray attended Northwestern State University, where she earned her Master’s in Special Education. Since 2015, Ms. Gray has taught sixth grade Math and English Inclusion and Resource. Ms. Gray believes that every learner is unique in his or her own way. They are unique individuals who need a safe, loving, and inspiring atmosphere in which they can grow and mature, physically, emotionally, and academically. Her goal as an educator is to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, support risk-taking, and invite a sharing of ideas. She also believes that all students have the ability to learn. This does not mean that they can learn at the same rate or learn the same material but when given the right guidance, he or she can accomplish anything.
