Student Spaceflight Experiment Program
-
The purpose of this club is to involve the youth of today in official microgravity research. The SSEP comes from the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education, who has paired up with NASA to provide this amazing opportunity. The question posed for students is "What chemical, physical, or biological system would I like to explore with gravity seemingly turned off as a means of assessing the role of gravity in that system?". After students identify the topic for their project, they work with a team of students to design an experiment proposal that they would like to see performed in space. The winning proposal is chosen to be brought onboard the ISS. Winners are invited to attend the launch of their payload rocket in Florida, and they are also invited to a national conference in Washington, D.C. to share their final analysis and conclusions.
