Access to Technology

  • "In our classroom, we have a Promethean ActivPanel for displaying and interacting with our curriculum. My students are 1:1 with iPads and laptops. Students use the device that best fits their needs for the assignment at hand. These devices make it easy to create interactive technology-rich lessons that all students can be involved in. In our class, students use our class canvas course to access content. The accessibility features within canvas Pages, Assignments and Discussions allow for individual student differentiation. To help students build their communication and presentation skills, students utilize Flip. This helps students realize the speed and volume of their voice and helps them to independently make corrections. After the student has perfected their presentations, we then create a QR code called FlipAR to send home to their parents so they can see their child's progress. Students use Reading Progress to help improve their fluency skills. The Reading Coach helps them to extend their vocabulary and build their confidence when reading aloud in class. Apps we use daily to help students improve their skills are Kahoot, Blooket, Reading Progress, Amplify Reading, Amplify Science, ST Math, Flip, Pear Deck, and Studies Weekly."
