World
 Engineering Day 
March 4th
World Engineering Day is a global event celebrated annually to recognize how engineers, technicians, and technologists make a difference in the world. This day aims to raise awareness about the importance of the following initiatives.

achieving sustainable development goals
promote engineering as a career choice
encourage innovation and collaboration
finding solutions to various real-world problems
building a more sustainable and equitable world

This year’s theme is “Engineering Solutions for a Sustainable World” which provides an opportunity to highlight the critical role of engineering in finding solutions to climate change, access to clean water and energy, and infrastructure development.
If you decide to conduct any engineering activity with students at any time this school year, take a few screen shots to submit in the form found in the Win a Bag of Teacher Swag OneNote notebook accessed with the QR code or by clicking HERE.

Winners will be selected at random from all entries at the end of each month through May. Participate when you want, as often as you'd like for your chance to WIN!
March 4, 2024 is WORLD ENGINEERING DAY!

This month, check out some ideas for incorporating technology-enriched activities to observe World Engineering Day. Integrate any of them in your classroom as described when it makes sense for you anytime this school year. Then, share what you did for a chance to win a bag of teacher swag! The bag contains the following items.

What is World Engineering Day?
Tech Tools and ideas
Ask students to create a sustainable world in Minecraft Education.
Have students design and create a prototype to solve a real-world problem using Tinkercad, 3D Builder or Paint 3D.
Design and build prototypes using littleBits to solve a real-world problem. 
Using PowerPoint, Sway, or Microsoft Word, have students create a flyer to bring awareness about a global issues with real-world solutions. 
Present students with prompts related to global challenges such as climate change/clean water and have them create a podcast giving insight on solutions to the global challenges using Flip or Audio Recorder.
Schedule a Teams meeting and invite a guest speaker from various engineering fields to talk with the students about careers and their experiences. 
Provide Gale Resources in your Canvas course for students to research engineering careers to explore opportunities for the future, then have them respond to prompts in a course discussion.
