If you decide to conduct a Flip poetry activity with students at any time this school year, whether it be one of the above or one of your own, take a few screen shots to submit in the form found in the Win a Bag of Teacher Swag OneNote notebook accessed with the QR code or by clicking HERE.
FLIP TOPIC IDEAS for poetry
Ask students to pick a poem and have them analyze it to determine things like meaning, tone, and rhythm.
Then, invite them to recite it to convey
what they learned.
Poetry Analysis
Teach students the forms for writing different poems. Then, ask them to read their own and use stickers in Flip to help convey
its meaning.
Student Poets
Have students
research different poets. Ask them to learn one poem by the poet that they enjoy. Invite them to record themselves reading it in the poet’s voice.
Poet Research
Have students create a poem from different text sources, borrowing words and phrases from a number of pages or passages. Then, ask them to recite it in a Flip topic.
