If you missed the opportunity to register your student entering kindergarten through 5th grade for the 2018-2019 school year, we are accepting AUGUST WAITING LIST SIGN UP. If any openings are not filled from Spring testing, you will be contacted the beginning of August for testing.

  • 5th Grade Student Selected as a Golden Rule Finalist by Kiwanis Club of Southwest Contraband

    T.S. Cooley 5th grader, Ty C. was selected as one of 3 Golden Rule finalists by Kiwanis Club of Southwest Contraband from all the Calcasieu Parish Schools for the 2017-2018 school year. He was honored at an award ceremony and presented with a plaque, golden ruler and an Apple watch for his faithful adherence to the Golden Rule and his commitment to treating others fairly and kindly.

  • T.S. Cooley Raises $3127 for American Heart Association

    T.S, Cooley raised $3127 for the American Heart Association this year with the Jump Rope for Heart charity fundraiser. Mrs. Caldwell’s homeroom raised the most money and was treated to a heart healthy smoothie party. Our top student donor was 1st grader, Ethan R.

  • Two T.S. Cooley Chess Members Compete At National Chess Championship

    Third graders, Mahad J. and Dominic B., along with Chess Club sponsor, Mrs. Lanier, and their families traveled to Nashville, TN to compete in the National Scholastic Championships 3 day chess tournament May 11 - 13. Mahad competed in the K-3 Under 1000 section and won 4 of his 7 games. Dominic competed in the K-3 Under 700 section and, also, won 4 of his 7 games. They played students from many states including New York, Tennessee, Texas, Missouri, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, and Alabama. Mrs. Lanier's son, Justin, former T.S. Cooley student and current math PhD student at Georgia Tech coached the students during the tournament. Both students represented T.S. Cooley and the state of Louisiana very well! Congratulations on an excellent job!

  • T.S. Cooley Announces Top Readers for the School Year

    138 first through fifth grade students earned the right to attend the end of year AR Reading Pep Rally by achieving their pep rally point goals! 120 MSU, LSU, and Saints prizes were given away during the pep rally. The top reader for the 2017-2018 school year is 4th grader Alli L. in Mrs. Schmitt’s homeroom with 700.2 AR points. She was presented with an autographed baseball signed by the members of the 2018 McNeese baseball team for her accomplishment. The top readers in the other homerooms are: 1st grader in Mrs. Guidry’s homeroom - Finn M. 194.6 pts., 1st grader in Mrs. Caldwell’s homeroom - Jacob C. 118.5 pts., 2nd grader in Mrs. Babaz’s homeroom - Lane H. 257.9 pts., 2nd grader in Mrs. Thompson’s homeroom - Blake C. 202.6 pts., 3rd grader in Mrs. Rion’s homeroom - Mahad J. 601.3 pts., 3rd grader in Mrs. Kingsley’s homeroom - Zoya N. 483.6 pts., 4th grader in Mrs. Cappel’s homeroom - Matthew R. 682.3 pts., 5th grader in Ms. Thibodeaux’s homeroom - Jude G. 297.7 pts., and 5th grader in Mrs. Orndoff’s homeroom - Parker M. 638.3 pts.

  • T.S. Cooley 4th and 5th Grade Choir Earns Sweepstakes

    The T.S. Cooley 4th and 5th grade Choir under the direction of choir director Annette Larsen, recently earned sweepstakes (superior ratings in performance and sight reading) at the State Music Assessment in Lafayette, LA.

  • 1st Grader Wins 1st Place in Law Day Poster Contest

    T.S. Cooley 1st grader, Laila R. was recently awarded 1st place for her poster in the Law Day Poster Competition at the Old Courthouse in Lake Charles. Her poster’s theme was on the federal government’s separation of powers and their benefit to our country.

  • T.S. Cooley 5th Grade Dance Team Brings Home the Gold

    Recently eighteen T.S. Cooley 5th graders competed at the Dance Sport Challenge/Colors of the Rainbow Ballroom Dancing Event. As well as winning gold overall, individual couples also placed for their expertise on the dance floor. Skyler C. and Annalise F. placed 1st in Swing, Foxtrot and Team Match and 3rd in Tango and Merengue. Andrew W. and Lydia L. placed 2nd in Tango and Rumba and 4th in Foxtrot. Braydon W. and Ashley J. placed 2nd in Swing, 5th in Merengue, 6th in Tango and Platinum in Team Match. Jake S. and Jenna K. placed 2nd in Foxtrot and 3rd in Tango. Riley B. and Kate M. placed 1st in Merengue, Foxtrot and Tango and 2nd in Swing and Rumba. Jonah A. and Shreya T. placed 4th in Swing and Tango and 7th in Foxtrot. Hannah T. and Collin H. placed 2nd in Merengue and Swing, 4th in Rumba and 5th in Tango. Ty C. and Ryanne C. placed 3rd in Swing and 4th in Foxtrot, Merengue and Tango.

  • 36 T.S. Cooley Alumni Graduating Seniors Visit and Share Their Memories

    T.S. Cooley graduating alumni, walked the halls and shared their favorite memories at morning assembly during the week of graduation from high school.They fondly recalled the end of year fun days, kickball games, 4-square and "nutritional curriculum" that included fresh fried catfish!
