Transitional Program for Residents of Methodist Children’s Home

This transitional program is limited to students who have been admitted to residency status at Methodist Children’s Home.  Eligible students will be placed in the program at the time of admission to the residential facility.

The curriculum will be individualized, diagnostic, and prescriptive. Courses will address state standards and grade-level standards in curriculum guides when appropriate for the individual student.  Students may take courses through the Calcasieu Parish Virtual Program, as well.

Students receive educational services from teachers and tutors provided by the Calcasieu Parish School Board including special education services when appropriate. Students will be evaluated using the parish grading policies.  All parish and state-mandated testing procedures will be followed.
