Career Clusters
Discover Your Future with Career Clusters
What do nurses, veterinarians, computer programmers, mechanics, and chefs all have in common?
They each belong to a career cluster.
A career cluster groups careers that use similar skills, interests, and knowledge. These clusters help students explore careers and plan the education or training needed after high school—whether that’s community college, a university, trade school, military service, or entering the workforce.
The United States organizes careers into 16 national Career Clusters, including areas like Health Science, Information Technology, Agriculture, Business, and Engineering. Inside each cluster are career pathways that show the many opportunities within that field.
Exploring career clusters helps students discover their strengths, plan their classes, and start building a future they’re excited about.
