In the Spring of 2022, the CPSB Technology Training Center/Title Department launched the 3D Printing Project, distributing 400 MakerBot Sketch 3D Printers to classrooms across the parish. The initiative aimed to enhance STEAM education by providing students with access to cutting-edge technology, fostering problem-solving and design thinking skills, and integrating STEM and art education. Project requirements included a 90-minute face-to-face training session on 3D printing and using the MakerBot Sketch printer, webinars on the design process and integrating 3D printing into the curriculum. Teachers also shared a picture and description of their first 3D printed object and submitted a task card with a 3D design linked to their curriculum.  

Since the fall of 2022, the Technology Training Center has offered design challenges throughout the school year. These challenges and competitions seek to equip students with practical experience in cutting-edge technologies, empowering them for future academic and career success.
