About Us
CPSB's Technology Training Center (TTC) collaborates with departments, schools, and teachers in the district in an effort to assist with the relevant integration of technology into a content-rich curriculum.
What We Do
CPSB Technology Facilitators facilitate the integration of district technology tools to enhance curriculum integration and support student achievement. The integration of technology is supported through a variety of programs and projects available for teachers, classrooms, district administration, and the community.
Teachers & Classroom Integration Support
- School-Site Visits: Hands-on integration support with district tools like Canvas, Microsoft 365, Lightspeed Classroom, Promethean, Newline, and more
- Virtual 1:1 Integration Guidance: Virtual meetings at your convenience to offer guidance and support with district technology tools.
- Curriculum Integration Support: Guidance for incorporating digital tools with standards-based instruction including, but not limited to 3D printing, makerspace activities, Minecraft activities, and more
- Makerspace Experiences: Collaborate with teachers to develop tech-enriched makerspace activities to be delivered in the classroom, as a Makerspace Field Trip Experience, or as a Mobile Makerspace Bus school visit
- Student Experiences: Provide resources for classroom delivery to engage students in district challenges that include 3D printing, Minecraft, and Sphero
District Administration Integration Support
- Strategic Planning: Assistance with tech integration to support school operations and leadership
- Leadership Training: Workshops on district tools for administrative efficiency
- Technology Rollout: Guidance on implementing district-wide technology initiatives
Community Integration Support
- Community Training Events: Support for the community through training events to promote digital literacy
- Tech Camp: An annual event for campers to learn how to use devices that promote critical thinking skills and creativity
- E3 Teacher Resident Training: Collaborative project to support McNeese Teacher Residents with the integration of technology in the classroom

Community Connections
Facilitate classes for the community to improve digital literacy

This is a course designed to help CPSB teachers prep their tech for the beginning of the school year originally developed to store resources for a live training. The course is now open to enrollment for those who'd like access to resources to help prep classroom tech to support communication, content curation, and classroom management. Technology Facilitators
Technology Facilitators facilitate the integration of district technology tools to enhance curriculum integration and support student achievement. The integration of technology is supported through a variety of programs and projects available for teachers in the classroom, district administration, and also for the community.
Facilitator Roles
Facilitators lead and serve on teams for a variety of TTC programs and projects to support learning objectives and tech integration throughout the district. Additionally, they are available for administrators to schedule once per 9-weeks for school/site visits in order to provide teachers with 1:1 support with tech integration assistance in their classrooms at their convenience.
School/Site Visit Information
Once school visit dates are scheduled by administrators, facilitators communicate with teachers and provide a link to schedule classroom visits for district tech integration assistance that includes, but is not limited to:

Makerspace Experiences
Makerspace ExperiencesMakerspace Experiences are available for CPSB teachers to request and work with Technology Facilitators to customize activities that align with instructional objectives with engaging tech-enhanced activities.
Makerspace Lab Field Trips
CPSB teachers can request to schedule Makerspace Lab Field Trips that take place in the Makerspace Lab located at 1732 Kirkman Street in Lake Charles. Once requested, a facilitator works with teachers to develop tech-enhanced makerspace activities aligned with instructional objectives. The lab can accommodate up to 50 students. These experiences are designed to provide either rotation activities or a more in-depth student experience. Field trips arrivals can be scheduled as early as 9:00AM with departures no later than 1:30PM. Students are able to bring their own lunches. Teachers will need to make their own transportation arrangements.
Makerspace Classroom Visits
CPSB teachers can request to schedule Makerspace Classroom Visits that take place in their own classrooms or school locations. Once requested, the facilitator assigned to the school will work with teachers to develop tech-enhanced makerspace activities aligned with instructional objectives. Facilitators will provide the materials and devices as needed. These experiences are designed to enhance classroom learning and can be scheduled for an entire day to accommodate all class periods.
Mobile Makerspace Bus School Visits
CPSB teachers can request to schedule a visit from the Mobile Makerspace Bus to visit their school. Once requested, the facilitator assigned to the school will work with teachers to develop tech-enhanced makerspace activities aligned with instructional objectives. The bus can comfortably accommodate 15-20 students at time. Depending on the number of students requested to participate and their schedule, bus rotations generally limit these experiences to be 20 minutes up to an hour per group rotation. These visits are scheduled between 9:30AM-1:30PM.
Makerspace Experience Request Form
CPSB Teachers can submit this Makerspace Experience Request form. Experiences are available on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to availability. Submit requests at least 2 weeks prior to when needed. Once submitted, a facilitator will reach out to confirm and plan the experience.
Gadget Checkout System
Gadget Checkout SystemThe TTC offers a variety of gadgets and devices for teachers to check out for classroom use for up to two weeks at a time. Once a Gadget Checkout is requested, a facilitator will contact the teacher to confirm and make arrangements for pick-up. Requests need to be made at least two weeks prior to the date needed and are based on availability. The person who makes the request is responsible for returning the CPSB property in the same condition in which it is received.
