I am very excited that this year we are trying something new to encourage reading throughout the summer. To keep the students excited about learning new things through reading, Dolby will be having a THREE DAY Book Fair May 19, 22, and 23. The purpose is to get books into the hands of children right as summer begins. Parents are welcome to come by the library to shop when you come up to school for your child(ren)’s Honors programs. The Book Fair will be open from 8:00 - 2:30 each of those three days. There is no online fair this time because of the close proximity to the end of school.
It was a joyful time last week at the Calcasieu Parish School Board meeting on Tuesday, May 9th, as two Dolby students were recognized for all of their hard work and diligence. Isaac Jimney was recognized for achieving over 1,000 AR points this year alone, and Reece Patterson was recognized for being the Region 3 Student of the Year. We are so proud of their leadership roles. They have truly let their light shine this year!
