    Plan Ahead: Individual Graduation Plan

Planning for your college and/or career should start early! For that reason, a student's Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) meeting is extremely important in helping you access the many resources that are available. Each year, your School Counselor will remind you of the steps you could take to ensure that your transition from high school to adult life goes as smoothly as possible.

To help you stay on track, check out the College Planning suggestions from College Board for 9th and 10th graders, 11th graders, and 12th graders.  For a month by month guide for juniors and seniors, try this resource: College Board's Prepping Parents.

University of Louisiana System:  Since its formation in 1974, the University of Louisiana System, one of the nation's twenty largest public systems of higher education, has provided access to higher education through its nine universities located throughout the state. Our nine universities enroll over 92,000 students of all ages and backgrounds, and offer over 600 academic degree programs. Today, we continue to offer courses on our campuses, and also through the newest distance learning technologies. We are working hard to meet the changing needs of students, offering more courses on-line and through compressed video.

    Nicholas State University

Figures are yearly totals and include a housing scholarship and academic scholarship. If the student chooses to not live on campus, they will forfeit their housing scholarship.

You can note that by minimally meeting our scholarships requirements of a 24 composite on the ACT and 3.0 GPA, the student will receive $20,000 over the course of their four years, and the figures increase from here. Also keep in mind that TOPS is not included in these figures.
