    Mission Statement:

We will strive, in all things, to make music first.  We intend to use our musical proficiency as a gateway to furthering ourselves academically and socially.  Whenever possible, we will welcome opportunities to serve as Musical Ambassadors for LaGrange High School, the City of Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish and the State of Louisiana.

The 2013-2014 LGHS Band is led by Mr. Neil L. Quinn and Mr. A.L. Van Metre.  This Fall, the Band will be saluting the genius and spirit of the legendary Berry Gordy, founder of Motown Records, with their halftime production entitled “Hitsville, USA”, named after the first Motown Studios building.  They’ll perform hits by Martha and the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder and more.  In the stands, the Gator Band will present a wide selection of popular music that has received significant radio airplay over the last fifty years.  The remainder of the year, the members of the LaGrange Band will seek to elevate their musical literacy and proficiency while taking advantages of many opportunities to represent LaGrange High School, the City of Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish as Musical Ambassadors.  Requirements to be in the LaGrange Band are the willingness to be in the Right place with the Right equipment and the Right attitude, otherwise known as “The LG Band Bill of Rights.”  If you think you can abide by the “Bill of Rights”, then there’s a chair in the LaGrange Band Hall waiting for you.
