Salvage Information

WHAT SHOULD I SALVAGE?

  • Check out the Current Device Models Page
    • This page shows our current device models.
    • If you don’t see the device on this page, it is a candidate for salvage.
*That doesn’t mean we won’t support your device if you choose to keep it.

DO I NEED TO DO PAPERWORK?

  • The Tech Support Center doesn't need any paperwork.
  • If the assets are Title 1 or SPED, those departments require paperwork/signatures. That paperwork should be sent to those departments.
    • You can find the forms here: https://www.cpsb.org/Page/495
    • If the CPSB asset tag is RED, it needs Federal Programs paperwork/signatures.
    • If the CPSB asset tag is BLUE, it needs SPED paperwork/signatures.

DO I NEED TO KEEP DOCUMENTATION?

  • Check with your school administrator to see what is required by the school but it’s a good idea to keep a record of the devices you send to salvage.
  • A simple way to do this is to open Excel and scan the serial numbers or asset tags of the devices you are bringing to the Tech Support Center for salvage.
    • This can be done once they are all in one location before loading into a vehicle.
    • Your Excel file can be saved, and you can add to it as you salvage throughout the year(s).
    • Save it in OneDrive and share it with others that may be adding to it.

WHERE DO I BRING SALVAGE?

  • Devices for salvage must be brought to the Tech Support Center located at 1732 Kirkman - M-F 7:30-4:30. (7:30-3:30 during summer hours)
  • If you have a large quantity of devices for salvage, you can contact the warehouse director, Max Caldarera via email (max2.caldarera@cpsb.org) to arrange for pick-up and delivery. Mr. Caldarera requests that you contact via email (not phone) so that there is a record of all requests, and he can schedule your pick-up efficiently.

WHAT CAN WE BRING IN FOR SALVAGE?

  • We accept desktops, laptops and iPads. (The only way to get them "retired" in your Fixed Assets is if we receive them for Salvage.)
  • We do not accept monitors, keyboards, mice, cords, Promethean boards, or printers for salvage.
    • These items can be sent to the CPSB Auction (Warehouse takes care of the auction, and Max Caldarera sends emails to principals with details).

IMPORTANT! We do not accept salvage between August 1 through the middle of October. (Specific dates are emailed at the end of the school year)
