As I reflect on my journey as a teacher within Calcasieu Parish School Board, I can honestly say I'm excited about the future. The district's mission statement, "Building Foundations for the Future," resonates deeply with me, as I've seen firsthand how CPSB invests in my growth and development. Since joining CPSB in 2014, the district has always provided me with opportunities and resources to grow, learn, and lead. There was never a doubt in my mind that I wouldn't have what I needed to succeed as a teacher. I appreciate the district's emphasis on collaboration and professional development, which has allowed me to learn from experienced teachers and leaders, broadening my perspective and enhancing my skills.

CPSB has given me the freedom to be creative and innovative in my teaching approach. Teaching isn't just a job; it's a calling that fuels my passion for making a difference. I've been allowed to be the life-changing teacher I strive to be. I'm always encouraged to explore new ideas, take risks, and make the curriculum my own. I love digging into research, talking to other teachers throughout the state, and finding new resources to try out in my class. I'm all about being creative and trying new things; this is what makes teaching so exciting for me! I'm passionate about finding ways to reach my students and making learning fun. It's not just about showing up; it's about giving it my all and making sure my students get everything they need to be successful. I can't help but go the extra mile, it's just who I am as a person and now as a teacher. I'm thrilled to be part of a district that understands me and allows me to do so.

As I continue my journey as a teacher, I feel extremely confident that CPSB will equip me with all the tools, the training, and the support I need to continue making a positive and lasting impact on students' lives. CPSB's commitment to building foundations for the future extends far beyond the classroom, focusing on student-centered learning, social-emotional support, and community engagement. These values have shown me the importance of creating a well-rounded educational experience. CPSB's commitment to teacher growth is genuine. I've been supported in my professional development, with access to workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs that have helped along my teaching journey.

 The district's focus on collaboration is equally impressive, with regular team meetings and peer observations that foster a sense of community and shared learning. What I appreciate most is how CPSB empowers teachers to take ownership of their growth. Whether it's pursuing advanced degrees, leading professional development sessions, or innovating curriculum design, the district provides the resources and encouragement needed to excel. This investment in teachers directly leads to student success, as we're better equipped to address diverse learning needs, create engaging lessons, and build strong relationships, connecting with students on a deeper level.

CPSB is truly investing in me, and it’s making a huge difference. They’re giving me the freedom to be myself and to pursue my passions. It’s helping me grow into a more authentic and confident person. I feel like I’m becoming a better version of myself, not just with teaching, but with my personal relationships, my goals, and my overall outlook on life. CPSB is showing me that I’m capable of so much more than I thought, and that’s a feeling that’s hard to put in words.
