Calcasieu Parish School Board Honors 2025–2026 Principals of the Year
The Calcasieu Parish School Board is proud to announce the 2025–2026 Principals of the Year. This year’s district-level honorees are Brandi Trahan from W.T. Henning Elementary School, Angela Guillory from Moss Bluff Middle School, and Patrick Fontenot from Barbe High School.
“Strong schools are built on strong leadership,” said Superintendent Dr. Jason VanMetre. “Our principals inspire students, empower teachers, and shape the culture of our schools. Their vision and commitment are at the heart of our success as a district. We are proud to celebrate these three outstanding leaders who embody what it means to selflessly serve our students, teachers, and staff.”
Brandi Trahan – W.T. Henning Elementary School
Elementary Principal of the Year
For the past seven years, Brandi Trahan has proudly led W.T. Henning Elementary School, the very school she once attended as a student. Her leadership has guided Henning to consecutive years of academic growth and earned the school the Top Gains Honoree distinction in both 2023 and 2024. Trahan’s deep connection to her school community drives her passion for creating a nurturing environment where students and teachers alike can thrive.
Angela Guillory – Moss Bluff Middle School
Middle School Principal of the Year
With two decades of service in Calcasieu Parish schools, Angela Guillory has dedicated her career to middle school education. She has taught social studies, led enrichment programs in jazz dance, and coached cheerleading for 12 years before moving into leadership roles as curriculum coordinator, dean of students, and assistant principal. Now in her role as principal of Moss Bluff Middle School, Guillory continues to make a meaningful impact on students, staff, and the broader community, leading with energy, empathy, and a true love for education.
Patrick Fontenot – Barbe High School
High School Principal of the Year
A 29-year education veteran and United States Air Force veteran, Patrick “Troy” Fontenot has dedicated his career to service, both in the classroom and beyond. After 10 years as a teacher and coach, he became an assistant principal at Iowa High School in 2007, later serving as principal in 2018. In 2020, he was named principal of Barbe High School, where his steady leadership and student-centered focus have strengthened school culture and achievement. Fontenot’s integrity, discipline, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire the entire Barbe community.
These three remarkable leaders exemplify the dedication, innovation, and compassion that define the Calcasieu Parish School Board. This district is proud to have Mrs. Trahan, Mrs. Guillory, and Mr. Fontenot represent the district for their outstanding.
