Calcasieu Parish School Board one of top-growing districts in state LEAP Performance
Following today’s release of LEAP results from the Louisiana Department of Education, the Calcasieu Parish School Board is proud to be among the top-growing districts in Louisiana for the 2024-2025 school year. The two-point growth in the district again puts Calcasieu above the state average in third through twelfth grade students performing at or above grade level.
“Today’s release truly showcases the work and commitment of the students, teachers, and staff in our parish,” said Superintendent Dr. Jason VanMetre. “Our students are succeeding because our teachers and staff are passionate about their profession and the success of students.”
The top-growing schools in Calcasieu are R.W. Vincent Elementary with an eight-point increase, Vinton High with a seven-point increase, and DeQuincy Middle with a six-point increase. The top-performing schools at each level in the district are T.S. Cooley Elementary Magnet, Moss Bluff Middle, and Barbe High.
“We take pride in celebrating our schools, and today is a day of celebration for all of our people,” said VanMetre. “We’re grateful to have this data as we prepare for the year ahead and work toward an even higher performance in the 2025-2026 school year.”
Today’s results mark the final LEAP data release under the current accountability system. Results for the year ahead will be calculated under a revised system from the State. View all results here.
