Legislative Fraud Notice

Act No. 693 from the 2014 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature took effect on August 1st.  Act No. 693 enacted La. R.S. 24:523.1, which provides, in part, that:

Every auditee shall post and keep posted in conspicuous places upon its premises a notice, prepared by the legislative auditor and located on his website, setting forth information concerning the reporting of the misappropriation, fraud, waste, or abuse of public funds.  

La. R.S. 24:523.1(B) requires that “Every auditee shall also post such notices on the website of the auditee.”

“Auditee” is defined by La. R.S. 24:513(A)(1)(a) and includes all public bodies and quasi-public agencies.
