The uniform policy for the 25-26 school year has been updated since last year. Black was added to the dress code as a uniform color. Like khaki and navy, black pants, skirts, shorts, skorts, or jumpers are now allowed as long as they are uniform style and color. Black jeans (pants only) are now also allowed in addition to blue jeans. Blue jean shorts and black jean shorts are not allowed. You can view the entire policy in our 25-26 Code of Conduct.

As we prepare for the 25-26 school year, it's important for our families to know what the communication process is for a potential weather closure or delayed start. These decisions are taken very seriously by district staff, as the safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our priority. We will always do our best to provide notice to our families the day prior, but sometimes early morning notifications are necessary due to the nature of the weather here in SWLA. Here you will find our communication procedures for delayed starts.

Safety and security measures continue to be a priority for us as we prepare for the 25-26 school year. Weapons detectors will be in place at all middle and high schools when students return. Our relationships with area law enforcement agencies will continue, as well as our partnership with Allied, Inc. Clear bags will now be required for athletic events. You can view that policy here. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring our campuses are as safe as possible entering this new year.

Keeping our families and stakeholders informed will continue to be a priority for us as we enter the 25-26 school year. It is very important to maintain correct contact information at the school level to ensure you don't miss out on any communication from the school or district level. We will utilize calls, texts, and occasionally email to notify you of crisis situations, weather closures, important information, and more. Take a few minutes to visit Student Progress Center and check or update your information. If for some reason you have opted out of messages and would like to again receive them, please send an email to info@cpsb.org. Texts will be coming from different phone numbers this year, so feel free to save them in your phone.

School supply lists are available here now. High school level school supply lists will be provided by each individual teacher, as the requirements differ based on course enrollment. Supplies will still be provided for our pre-kindergarten students through the Early Childhood Department.

We want to share with you an update regarding our School Nutrition Program for the 25-26 school year. Due to the natural disasters that impacted our area, all students in our district have been able to eat breakfast and lunch in our cafeterias at no charge for the last several years. The USDA will no longer be fully covering the cost of meals for students who do not qualify for free or reduced lunch, so the district will be covering the additional cost of these meals next school year. This will ensure that all of our students can continue to eat breakfast and lunch for free. Our students receiving warm, healthy meals is critical to their educational success, and it’s important to us to do all we can to continue fueling hungry minds. We look forward to the year ahead in the cafeteria!

Student Progress Center is an important resource for parents, as it's where grades can be checked and student information can be updated. This year we are asking parents to sign in as soon as possible to ensure contact information is correct.
