Information for Math 113 Dual Enrollment with McNeese
RESTARTING THE FALL SEMESTER
We will restart the fall semester on Friday, Sept. 18. Students who are having issues with technology or stable internet access should not panic. Faculty will work with students and be creative with extending time to complete assignments. The semester is still scheduled to end on Dec. 1. Students will have the option to request an Incomplete in their classes and finish the coursework after the semester ends.
McNeese students can access libraries and computer labs at all University of Louisiana schools, including UL-Lafayette, Nicholls, Southeastern, Northwestern, Grambling, Louisiana Tech and UL-Monroe. We are working on a plan to create one or more drive up WiFi hot spots on campus.
We are working on a list of Frequently Asked Questions for students, faculty and staff. This list will be updated frequently.
Q: Since we missed over two weeks of classes, will we go longer in December?
A: No. End of term dates have not been extended. This includes 4 and 7-week courses. If you need extra time to complete your coursework, contact your instructor about the possibility of receiving an incomplete grade. Note that if you are graduating in December, an incomplete grade could impact your ability to graduate in December.
Part 2: Other Dual Enrollment Answers from McNeese
-How will DE be handled when our students are taking a course with a McNeese instructor?
Students that are taking courses with McNeese instructors would need to start logging into Moodle immediately since instruction will resume for McNeese on the 18th. Our faculty realize that several students have some personal hardships and difficulties, so they are to be understanding and work with the students. They need to reach out to their professors and keep in contact with them through email; some professors may also use the messaging system in Moodle, so students should check that daily, as well. Our university has also sent out information that our sister schools are allowing our students to use their libraries and computer labs if they need computers and internet.(ULL, Nicholls, Southeastern, Grambling, LA Tech, UL-Monroe, Northwestern).
Our semester will end on December 1st with finals to follow that next week.
If a student does not think they can handle the DE courses, the counselor needs to email their counselor and copy Betty Anderson so we can withdraw them from the class(es).
