BE ON TIME

LaGrange High School Tardy to School Policy (1st hour only)

Attendance will be marked in first hour only one of two ways. either a student is absent  or they are late to school.  Students will not be sent to the AP office to check in during first hour. If a student arrives to your classroom any time after the 7:45 A.M. bell, mark them as late to school. When addressing the tardiness of those students, please follow the steps listed below:

3rd tardy—Student receives a copy of a tardy letter from his or her first hour teacher. The student is to sign the letter and receive a copy to bring home. The teacher keeps a copy of the signed tardy letter.

4th hour—Teacher fills out an ODR and attaches a copy of the tardy letter that was signed by the student on the third tardy. Turn in the ODR to Mrs. Woods in the A.P. office. Do not send a student out of class for a tardy. Turn in the ODR during your planning period. The grade level A.P. will call the student to the office. The A.P. will contact the student’s parent on the 4th tardy.

5th tardy—The first hour teacher turns in an ODR. The A.P. will contact the parent and the student will be assigned two hours of I.S.D.

6th tardy—The first hour teacher turns in an ODR. The A.P. will contact the parent and the student will be assigned four hours of I.S.D.

7th tardy—The first hour teacher turns in an ODR. The A.P. will contact the parent and the student will be assigned to one day of I.S.S.

8th tardy—The first hour teacher turns in an O.D.R. The A.P. will contact the parent and the student will receive a one day suspension (O.S.S.)
