Summer School Enrollment - New and Repeat Credit

LaGrange High School will offer summer school opportunities for both repeat and new credit. A student must have a letter from his or her home school approving credits earned in the summer.

 

Courses offered for new credit:

  • English III/IV
  • Chemistry
  • Physical Science
  • Environmental Science
  • Algebra II
  • World Geography
  • World History
  • Civics

 

Courses are offered for repeat credit.

  • English I/II (only if a student has already passed the state assessment)
  • English III/IV
  • Algebra I/Geometry (only if a student has already passed the state assessment)
  • Algebra II
  • Physical Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry
  • Biology (only if a student has already passed the state assessment)
  • World Geography, World History, Civics
  • US History (only if a student has already passed the state assessment)

 

***Finalization of availability of courses will be determined by the number of students who enroll in each course.

 

Registration information:

  • Written documentation to take repeat and new credit must be provided at the time of registration.
  • LaGrange students must receive written approval from a LaGrange counselor to attend summer school.
  • Non-LaGrange students must have a letter from their school administrator/counselor to attend summer school at LaGrange.

 

Fees and Tuition

  • Full credit work--$200 per credit (cash only)
  • 1//2 credit work--$100 per half credit (cash only)
  • Full payment must be made at the time of registration. Tuition is non-refundable after June 2, 2023.
  • If payment is made online, bring receipt to registration.

 

 

Summer School Calendar

 

  • May 15—Preregistration
  • May 29—Class schedule and times will be posted on LaGrange’s school website: https://www.cpsb.org/Domain/159
  • May 30—Summer school begins. Students will meet in the cafeteria prior to moving to class.
  • June 8—First IPR
  • June 19-School Holiday
  • June 21—Second IPR
  • June 21—Final exam for half credit courses
  • July 4—School Holiday
  • July 6—Third IPR
  • July 12 and 13—Final and make up exams for full credit classes.
  • July 14—Summer school ends; grades released.

General Rules and Policies

 

  • All students must adhere to the CPSB district Code of Conduct. The dress code for all students will be the uniform policy as adopted by CPSB. Private school students will wear their assigned uniforms. Students not in uniform will not be admitted to class.
  • Regular attendance is expected. Absences will be excused by a written note from the parents and must not exceed four class periods for full credit repeat classes. Students taking classes for new credit cannot miss more than two class periods. Students who are tardy cannot enter class without written permission from an administrator.
  • The parent/guardian of the summer school student must provide an active phone number and email address.
