Applications for AP Human Geography at Sulphur High are now being taken until May 19th.
AP classes are college courses but taken in high school. An AP class differs from an honors or gifted class because the topics, textbook, and materials used for instruction are at college level. Since AP courses are college level, they require college level work ethic, effort, maturity, and discipline
What is Human Geography?
This is not a history class nor does it address physical geography much at all. Since human geography is, in essence, the footprint of humans on the Earth, it will analyze human patterns across space and time. Trends and behaviors of humans on earth include population, culture, politics, agriculture, development, industry and urbanization.
