September is Deaf Awareness Month. What better way to talk about this than with my sign language classes, sharing a little of what they’re learning! In just a little over a month, my group are already able to sign small conversations. They are all so excited and are looking for ways to use their new skills. I’ve had 3 different students share how they have been able to use their new skills with some deaf individuals. They were excited to share with me about their experience and how these new friends were so happy to communicate with my students. I couldn’t be more proud! THIS is why I love teaching this class! I know they will continue learning and have even more opportunities to use sign language in our community!
