Good evening Western Heights Elementary Parents. Thank you to all of the families that attended our Meet and Greet last night. We are excited to welcome our students back to school. We have a few reminders for you as you get ready for school tomorrow. All students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunches. Students need to bring a refillable or disposable water bottle to school daily. Car riders may be dropped off in the car rider area in the back of the school at 7:05. There is one entrance for car rider drop and pick up. Please enter through the gate farthest from Elizabeth Street. The exit is the closest gate to Elizabeth Street. Students are not allowed to be dropped off prior to the duty teacher being outside. Please make a sign for your car, if your student is a car rider in the afternoon. Please write your child's name in large letters on a sign and place it in your windshield on the passengers side. This will assist us in moving the car line quickly for dismissal. Our bell rings at 7:40 in the morning. If a student arrives after 7:40, a parent must sign them in at the office. We will have staff on duty in the morning to assist students getting to their classrooms. Dismissal begins at 2:45. Bus riders will dismiss at 2:45 followed by car riders at 2:47. Walkers and Bike Riders will dismiss at 2:50. If your child is a walker or bike rider, please have a contingency plan for rainy days. We don't allow students to walk or ride a bike home in the rain. Please sign up for our Remind 101 for updates about rainy day dismissal and other important events. The information to sign up for Remind 101 will be located on the August Newsletter that will go home tomorrow. Students must wear uniforms to school. Uniforms include our current year spirit shirts. All CPSB students and faculty, along with all visitors must wear a mask in the building. If your child tests positive for COVID or is in direct contact with someone who is COVID positive, please contact the school. We are looking forward to seeing all of our students in the morning. Have a great evening.
