Westlake High is now offering Educators Rising!
This is a two-year course that takes you through the beginning stages of a teacher preparation program.
During this course you will observe live classrooms in our area at the elementary, middle, and high school level. You will also learn classroom management and teaching styles.
We will also take field trips to the school board office and attend at least one school board meeting.
This program is limited to Juniors and Seniors. Seniors may take this course.
What do you get from it?
Year 1 – Classroom Culture Micro-Credential
EDUC 203 (3 Hours) at McNeese State University
Many Louisiana universities also offer 3 hours for this credential
Year 2 – Anti-Bias Instruction Micro-Credential
EDUC 204 (3 hours) at McNeese State University
Seniors who take this course may try for both credentials.
We will have an informational meeting on August 4th at 6 PM in the Westlake High Cafeteria.
