The Calcasieu Parish School Board is currently piloting a new online payment processing program for the 2018-2019 school year. As the program is in a trial phase, online payments can only be submitted by parents/guardians of students attending Sulphur High School, Sam Houston High School, and F.K. White Middle School.

The program, Online School Management Systems, is utilized by other districts in Louisiana and integrates with CPSB’s current school accounting system. While there is a small convenience fee assessed to parents during the transaction process, the program is user-friendly and supports the payment of all registration fees applicable to a student.

The district anticipates an immediate change in line length and wait time at school registration due to the convenience this program offers.

“Online payments are here to stay with many stakeholders now making all of their routine payments using the latest technology,” said Superintendent Karl Bruchhaus. “The school system will continue to take steps to simplify processes and keep up with emerging expectations and trends.”

If the piloting of this program is successful, the district will look to implement it district-wide for the 2019-2020 school year.
