The Lake Charles Boston Academy of Learning is once again ranked among the top 100 CLEP testing centers in the nation by College Board®. This is now the third consecutive year the site has received this distinction, which is based on the number of CLEP tests administered to students.

“The opportunity for high school students to take CLEP tests for college credit has grown since local school districts are rewarded in the Louisiana accountability system for those efforts,” said Calcasieu Parish School Board Superintendent Karl Bruchhaus. “While the CLEP lab at LCBA began as an efficient, cost effective way for students to have the opportunity to test, it has grown into a catalyst for earning college credits. We are proud of our students for taking advantage of this treasure in our parish and the team members that make it a reality.”

With over 1,800 CLEP Testing Centers worldwide, the top 100 centers accounted for more than 25% of the total testing volume during the 2017-2018 school year. This makes the Lake Charles Boston Academy of Learning campus a tremendous resource to students in Southwest Louisiana and their families.

“We enjoy celebrating with students who earn college credit through CLEP testing,” said Lake Charles Boston of Academy Learning Principal Beth Fraser. “It rewards them for their hard work in high school and gives them a head start on their future endeavors. Parents can certainly appreciate the fact that they will not have to pay for college coursework their students have already mastered in high school.”
